Louise Treadway is a realistic painter who works in guoache and pastels. Inspired by natural forms, she loves to stare into the depths of flowers and landscapes, inspired by their ephemeral and delicate, yet powerful natures. For each work, she first captures an image via photography. She crops and edits the image, and enlarges them to find the details as she paints. This allows her to catch the light as it moves through the petals and leaves, and the subtlety in the angles and shapes between and within the forms. She wants yet to sink into each image, experiencing the rhythms and fractal designs she sees.
